Condensed Milk Cake

Condensed milk cake – This is a simple and a basic eggless cake made using condensed milk and few other ingredients. It can be served as a tea time cake or as a dessert along side some fresh fruit and cream. This cake tastes good on its own or you can use it as a base and add up frostings of yours choice.

INGREDIENTS

Serves – 5-6

  • Condensed milk – 1 can
  • Milk – 1.25 cup ( measured out in the condensed milk can)
  • All purpose flour/Whole wheat flour – 2 cup
  • Butter – 125 gms
  • Baking soda – 1 tsp
  • Baking powder – 1.5 tsp
  • Vanilla essence – 2 tsp
  • Salt – a pinch

METHOD

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Take softened butter in a bowl.

2. Add in the milk and condensed milk. Also add in the vanilla essence.

3. Mix well till the mixture is uniform.

4. Sift the flour, salt, baking powder and soda in the prepared condensed milk mixture in batches.

5. Mix well till well incorporated. Grease a loaf tin and line with baking paper. Transfer the condensed milk flour mix to the tin.

6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-45 minutes or till a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

7. Take out the oven and let turn it out on a wire rack. Let it cool before cutting into the cake.

8. Serve with tea or even fresh cream and fruits.

NOTES

  1. Each oven is different, hence the time will vary as well. Mine got done in 40 minutes. Check after 30 minutes, if not done let it bake for few more minutes.
  2. Let the cake cool completely before slicing into it.
  3. Since we are adding condensed milk , extra sugar is not needed. If you are a sweet toothed person, you can incorporate ¼ cup castor sugar.
  4. Use this cake as a base and add frosting of your choice.
